viva glam

well i saw her, was about ten feet away from her, so close i could almost taste her, er it...but alas this lil' gay boy didn't get to meet her. but i'll settle for seeing her up close rather than not seeing her at all, any ol' day of the silly week!! my plan was to show up at the mall (where she was autographing her mac cosmetics add to those of you who had purchased a mac product over the last week), and wave around a copy of her book, a playboy magazine with her on the cover from 1996, and my chihuahua (which she loves) and have her flock to ME...but it didn't exactly turn out that way...

she came, she saw, and she hosted the juno's!! and i must say, that i loved every second of it! i've alreay expressed the many reason's as to why i love this lady, (fun, talented, dedicated mother, tommy lee's ex) but there was something else in particular about this lady that was on everybody's lips that night.

i mentioned before her dedication to PETA, and well more recently there's been the issue of stephen harper going ahead with the killing of the seals. here's an exerpt from the miami post adressing the issue:

"Pamela Anderson is renewing calls for her homeland to end its East Coast seal hunt, reports The Associated Press.

Anderson, a native of British Columbia, said Saturday that she was disappointed Prime Minister Stephen Harper had refused her request for a meeting after Canada's annual Juno music awards shows on Sunday, which she was invited to host.

The refusal prompted the former Baywatch star to write Harper a letter warning that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals would escalate its efforts if Canada does not stop the annual seal harvest.

''When people think of Canadian Club, they should think of a good whiskey, not jerks beating pups on the ice,'' Anderson said at a news conference Saturday..."

now some people are upset that she used her "juno-host" status as a means of addressing the topic of concern and using it to her advantage to spread her opinion and do some prime minister bashing at the same time. and while i have to agree that it probably wasn't THE BEST place to voice an opinion, i stand behind her decision one hundred percent!!

she had to address it at some point during the evening, considering all the hype that's been surrounding the seal issue lately, and well...she's Pamela Anderson for crying out loud!!! of course it was bound to be a tad bit controversial!!! what did you expect?!?

in my opinion, the seal bashing is cruelty to animals PLAIN AND SIMPLE. i admire the work that she has been doing (and above all the work that PETA does), and no matter which way you look at it, it just isn't right! animals are animals, no matter what their purpose is, they were put on this earth for a reason and it is unethical for us to interrupt the natural course their lives are bound to take. end of discussion.

and the prime minister's absolute refussal to even MEET for a discussion, (in my eyes)makes him out to be completely and utterly guilty.

everyone who knows me knows that i'm a huge lover of animals, and if you are too you'll go to www.peta.org and atleast take a look around. maybe even sign up and make a difference.

(that may have sounded a little afterschool-specialish of me...but i couldn't help it!)
